Student Activities Council

For students, by students.

The Student Activities Council (SAC) builds community through opportunities to gather, have fun, and take a break. A six-person team plans and organizes fun and inclusive events for the campus community — free! The primary focus is late-night weekend fun, but SAC also plans a variety of daytime and weeknight events.

The Standouts

Students riding carnival ride

Carnival

SAC’s largest event of the year is an unforgettable experience, headlined by a live concert that brings the whole campus together! Along with incredible music, students can enjoy carnival rides, axe throwing, mechanical bull riding, zip-lining, delicious food, and so much more. It’s the event everyone looks forward to—don’t miss out on the excitement!

Black Friday

Hosted by SAC every other year, this exciting event gives students the chance to win amazing prizes—ranging from fun stickers to brand-new TVs! Best of all, everyone who attends walks away with a prize, making it a night you won’t want to miss!

The Hypnotist

A long-standing first-year orientation tradition. Each year SAC brings in a hypnotist who amazes students with their hypnotic abilities, creating a show that is both hilarious and mind-blowing.

The Spring Ball

A night of dancing, music, and pure entertainment! This beloved tradition features a yearly theme that in the past has been inspired by the Netflix hit Bridgerton and a Speakeasy. Plans for an upcoming Masquerade Ball are currently in the works. Whatever the theme, Spring Ball is your chance to experience a magical night right on campus!

The Fall Kick-off

A themed outdoor event—last year was Boardwalk Bash—at the beginning of the school year that includes a live band, bounce houses, a mechanical surfboard, lawn games, s’mores, and more!

Fall Movie Fest

One of the many movie related events SAC hosts each year, Fall Movie Fest is an outdoor event where students can relax and enjoy popcorn, hot apple cider, and blankets while watching a popular fall movie (last year was The Fantastic Mr. Fox) as well as enter a raffle to win a fall goodie basket.

Get Involved

Come to a General Session meeting. Every other Wednesday from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Ewen Room, General Sessions meetings give the student body a chance to provide input into the events that SAC is planning for the year and apply for a SAC executive position. Everyone is encouraged to come. It is extremely informal, and snacks are usually available.
